Cron Jobs
Learn about what cron jobs are actually, what they do and the ways to make use of them to improve your digital life.
A cron job is an automated task, that executes a particular action - generally executing some script in a website hosting account. The task is pre-set, so that it will run on a regular basis - weekly, daily, hourly and so on. There are numerous reasons to use a cron job for your sites. For example, you can get regular reports how many visitors have registered on your website, some temp folder may be emptied automatically once a week or a backup copy of your content can be made in a standalone folder within your website hosting account. Using cron jobs will help you with the administration of your websites since you can have lots of things carried out automatically and have reports about them, instead of spending precious time and efforts to complete them manually.

Cron Jobs in Cloud Hosting
When you get any of our
cloud hosting plans, you will be able to create cron jobs with only a few clicks using your Hepsia Control Panel even if you have never done that before. Hepsia is really intuitive, so rather than entering numbers and asterisks on specific places, which is the usual method to assign a cron job, you'll be able to select the days, hours or minutes some script has to be run using quick drop-down menus. The latter is done in the Cron Jobs section of the Control Panel and, naturally, you can always use the first method too, when you're experienced enough and you prefer it. In either case, you will also need to enter the path to the script that'll be executed along with the path to the PHP, Python or Perl system files in your account. The aforementioned can be found in the Control Panel and you're able to copy/paste it, yet if you encounter any difficulties, you can contact your support team.
